Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

If the old bb unthreaded and rethreads in smoothly it not likely the frame's threading is at fault. It's more likely the new bottom bracket's threads are misshapen or rough.
