Drop bars offer the most hand positions, but are usually set below the level of the saddle. The high rise adapter on this bike allows the handlebars to be raised to almost any height. The Ritchey adjustable stem allows for additional forward adjustment. The slight flare of the Salsa Woodchipper bar provides additional comfort. A pair of rubber grips similar in shape to the Ergon GP1 that would not fit this bar were added and then covered (along with the rest of the bar) with several layers of Bontrager cushioned handlebar tape. The result: a perfectly positioned handlebar with the maximum number of alternatives for hand positions, all greatly cushioned.
