When I had my Giant Rapid 2 it was no slouch on the road--Aluxx aluminum frame, 9-speed triple, 25mm tires, shortened handlebar. It came in at 21lb, and for a hybrid that's not bad. I've converted it to a drop bar since and I've no regrets either. It feels much more stable at speed, and I so much appreciate the multiple position on the handlebar.
