You are right that the Lynskey Nomad rack is a more heavy duty rack. I would opt for the Nomad rack if I was planning to go on unsupported tours. But at this time I will be riding on supported tours and will be packing the trunk bag with only what will need for that day of riding. The Lynskey rack is surprisingly robust, with a stated load capacity of 170 lbs.
