All of your points are well taken and I am in agreement, though I can imagine how it must pain you to be witness to the decline not only of grammar, but of writing style, vocal intonation and colloquial usage (rising intonation, vocal fry, valley-girl, "so", "personally", writing and speaking of the recent past in the present tense, ending declarative statements with a question mark, et al). Pretty good run-on sentence, huh?
So, personally, I struggle with run-on sentences and excessive use of commas, parentheses, ellipses, and semi-colons and wonder if it is right?
And, good grammar is something I am always looking for. <This drives me nuts (though it is now considered 'good' grammar, to me it is not 'proper'); I feel compelled to say:
'I might add, I am always looking for good grammar.'
One can easily see why I try to suffer in silence. Best I continue to do so, I think.
Let's talk some bicycle stuff.
Cheers,
Tom
