No advantage of the iX over the DX Nitecores, AFAIK except price and simplicity. I have the i2 and D2, and the D2 uses the more accurate NiMH charge method dv/dt. I put my i2 away for a backup and use the D2, which may seem more complex, but also has selectable charge currents. I believe the 4bay units complicate matters by sharing the charge currents among pairs of bays. There are in-depth reviews available on the web.
