Bikes: Trek 520 total custom build, Cannondale Mountain Tandem, Oryx Mountain Bike

Hey Tim. Thanks for the quick reply. I thought that I had responded. After watching the video and LMAO, I remeasured my wife, and have come up with 28 1/4" or 71.75 cm. When she tried the Focus, she automatically was on her toes. It's not uncomfortable for her, as she has been dealing with being short for over 50 years. There doesn't seem to be a standard number to size correlation. So what we have found is xxs or xs or s doesn't mean that she can stand over any of them with 1/2" under her, really. It just depends on the manufacturer. That is why I decided to put the call out on the BF, for suggestions. In Winnipeg, we have 5 or 6 bike shops, but they carry about as many really small bikes as they do touring bikes. About none. We go down to the States a few times a year, so we would like to have some ideas before heading to Florida next month. Actually, both Fuji's she was fine with the color, and it seems there are a few dealers in central Florida.

fietsbob- We have looked at a couple kids bikes that were higher end-but none with 105 or better. So I still question why they are "higher end". The cockpit area was just a bit too tight she said. They had 650's for wheels, and of course LBS offered to change out components, but then we are starting to get to a custom-ish kinda bike, and it didn't make sense. The bike will not be used for racing, or shouldering and running. This whole idea came from one of the girls that I was on tour with this past summer. She had an Argon 18, CF, with Ultegra. My wife loved the lightness of it and the fact that it was fast. But after trying several nice road Bikes and Beyond, she has decided that she doesn't want a road bike "sports car" She wants something more utilitarian, all wheel drive, stylish, Acura MDX.

The Focus, she liked. But hated the look of the tires, the paint, and the saddle didn't feel good. LBS not willing to swap out the tires or saddle, so it ticked her off that it was going to cost another $200 + for a saddle and set of tires. I know a guy that could "wrap" the bike with an awesome design for a couple hundred bucks. BUT, it's over budget again. So still looking for Miss Right.
