I agree, but a properly set up flat bar doesn't present those issues. For example:



The saddle/bar drop there is greater than many drop bar roadies saddle/hood drop, and almost as deep as saddle/drops drop in a lot of cases, too, and we know a lot of roadies don't spend much time in the drops. Bar ends provide a variety of extra hand holds.
