Would the chain finally settle and stop skipping over time, if i just ride more?

As i was trying to replace the chain ring, i got a new chain, as old one was quite worn

once i put new chain on, when under pressure, the chain skips from middle chain ring.
Are you sure you got the right size chain for the number of speeds on your cassette? Even if the chain has the correct designation, measure the distance between side-plates with a caliper and compare it with the thickness of your chain ring. Sometimes they don't match.

Also, have you oiled the chain? It came oiled, but a little more may help.
