I generally lock my helmet with the bike lock (unless it is raining). I figure that nobody will cut the straps to steal the helmet, thus rendering it useless.
If I have a sweat band, that is hung on the brake hoods. Nobody in their right mind would steal a 50 cent sweaty headband.
