Ahhh the "novelties" of a compact double crankset. Everyone who has a compact double deals with this. I generally upshift my rear derailleur before I drop down to the lower chainring. For me in most of my gears, it's a triple tap on the RD and a single tap on the FD to get to roughly the same gear. If I'm starting a hill I'll just double tap the back and single tap the front.
No, you can't change it unless you want to change the parts on your bike. It comes with practice.
