So, I went ahead and invested in some of the tighter fitting options which so far seem to be working out. Also, riding during the week is hard to most of the time with my work schedule. Therefore I also invested in a good trainer, and am trying the Traineroad program during the week. My plan is to get in at least 50 miles a week between the trainer and weekend rides. Hopefully, I can do more!
My friends in Oregon have told me to forget staying dry in the rain ... go with staying warm. I bought some PI Amfib tights on their recommendation.

Haven't had occasion to use them yet!
