Figured I'd kill some time and test out your theory. I tried a 60cm Domane frame and determined that he could get roughly the same fit with a few minor adjustments:

saddle pushed 14mm further forward on seatpost (or straight post and ~10 mm back)
70mm long 45° stem instead of 90mm 0°
40mm of spacers

I'd go with custom, too.
