Also the pinon (on your rack and pinon) needs to be supported closer to the rack, as it is presently, the steering shaft will flex and allow the pinon to skip on the rack momentarily loosing steering control (not a good thing)

Consider using a simple Pitman arm setup, much simpler and lighter.
