Mentioned that the front derailleur does not shift smoothly. Is that likely just in need of adjustment or a replacement? Didn't know what the gearing on the bike was or what year it was. It was mentioned before that some years had good gearing, while other years have bad gearing. Overall this seems like a steal. Things to watch out for when I go to check it out?
Just to provide some closure on this discussion I'll followup by saying that I took this Randonee for a test ride today and it fit like a glove- didn't even need to adjust anything. Made me realize just how uncomfortable the MTB I was using was. There is some work to be done but I'm reveling the chance to get hands on and learn a thing or two about bike mechanics. Theres some minor rust of a few nuts on the pedal so I assume this was not well taken care of. Tires however must have been brand new because they didn't seem like they had any tread wear whatsoever. Front and rear derailleur cables are rusted and neither shift so we will see what kind of nightmare that turns into. Because if this I got the bike for $80. Figured that since the frame, tires, wheels, saddle, gearing, and chain all seemed to be in good shape it was worth the gamble.

Thanks again to everyone who pitched in I really appreciate the help. Will post an update in the future if/when I get everything squared away.
