Pretty much as remote as you can get in NA... dropped off by plane in Alaska.
Don't know the gear weights, but they took what they needed for the terrain and the weather. And with the rafts I bet it was lighter than many cross country tourists that have easy access to resupply.

Posted for those that think 'ultra' means riding in a speedo with flip flops and sleeping in a garbage bag only during the 4 days a year the weather is perfect and you can make it from McDonalds to McDonalds without getting hypothermia...
Also, consider the folks that do the Tour Divide... yeah, some pack ALOT. Others, not so much, even mid pack:
