I'll add my $.02 here. I think wt. of bicycle and racks can easily vary by 10 lbs. so that wt. should count. IMHO
I also think if you're wearing anything more than shoes, shorts, jersey or such, and helmet. That extra counts as gear wt.
I'ld like to hear the difference between your warm weather and cold weather gear.
Please & Thank you.
There's always tradeoffs and people see the importance of weight differently. There seems to be many different ways to answer the question "what does your touring bike weigh?". Since I've been on this site I've added 10 measures to my spreadsheet based on the different ways that people ask the question. And guess what...Machaka's parameters are not answered by any one of the measures on my sheet. I include unattached bike parts (pump, water bottles, lights, computer, lock) as gear vs. bicycle.

Here's my list for my most recent tour: up to the Great Lakes, 40 days (May 12 - June 20), 100% camping, 2300 miles, temperature low was 23 (F) degrees.
