I had a feeling they would. They HAVE to know this is a design problem. Good luck with the parts swap costs! In the end my LBS ended up giving me a better discount and threw in a free T-shirt.
Final update: LBS did the frame replacement at no cost, and they were kind enough to replace some of the white bits with red and black bits. I did have an extra red cage and black tape. I am still using the original seatpost. They even installed the new Easton carbon handlebars I was going to swap over the winter.
I am not a fan of black matte finishes but I have to say the final result looks pretty awesome. I am glad to lose the Trek text all over the frame from my 2013 version
