If you're riding upright, I think a little padding is good. If you have a LBS that lets you try bunches of them, do it, It;s the only way you're going to know. Also, I rode around, semi upright, on one of these for a number of years. http://www.amazon.com/The-Seat-Ergo-.../dp/B017WP8LVK. I could ride all day and all night with no discomfort. The only issue with it is that, if you tend to use the nose of the saddle for control purposes, it won't work.
