They wear out rubbing against the seat while pedalling - and "reinforced" jeans means they take twice as long to wear out but they still wear out. Jean material just doesn't hold up to repetitively rubbing against the seat like other synthetic materials do. Jeans also can tend to have the waistband into into your waist while riding...some people notice some don't, but pants with an elastic waistband have been waaay more comfortable for me.
Have you ever considered a type of bike that negates the need for bike specific clothing?
