I looked it up and it was Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson and he vividly describes- in his book "Out of Control"- "taking a couple of major snorts" in front of the 80,000 fans inside the Orange Bowl as well as the "200 million" who were watching on TV.
I saw something on ESPN about him. They had a freeze frame from film of the game. You can see the bulge from the Vicks bottle hidden in his pants. They also had footage of him after the loss. He was pretty much incoherent. Mercury Morris was another pro player who turned into a coke head and spent time in jail. (I believe he ran back kicks for the Cardinals.) He later did an anti-coke PSA where he says in part "As a result of my lust for cocaine...."
