I kinda agree with the comment about the dangers of storing valuable stuff like bikes in an attic.....
Found out the hard way that organic materials like plastic and rubber do not fare well in vry hot and dry condition tht an attic will usually have in temprate regions...
My beloved San Marco ski boots I cherished because of their beautiful design that was way ahead of its time, literally exploded to pieces when I first took them down the slopes after spending a couple of years in my brother's attic in Wisconsin.
Say "Outgassing". They literally crumbled to pieces before my eyes...
The vinylThe vinyl/rubber parts and padding skin of the boots also fell off the in big dry flakes. And the foam under them turned to grey dust.... I assume that if it had latex rubber parts on it, they would have looked like we'll done bacon....
