+1000. Exactly this. I decided to clean/organize the bike side of the garage while the Mrs. was away on a biz trip. The first upside was the whole fleet got to live in the living/dining room while I cleaned the garage and installed hooks. The second upside, maybe, would have been a "Hey, the garage looks nice." Instead what I got was a "How many bikes do you have???", followed by a count. What had previously just been a heap of bikes, an uncountable mass, became a whole lot of countable bikes.
Yeah, it could have gone better....

The number of bikes hanging in one spot switched on something in her brain and she went through the house hunting down and counting the ones tucked away in the basement. Plus the frames. And my commuter bikes locked up outside. In retrospect, this could have gone better.
