Short version: bought bike off CL, rode it 9 thousand miles, seat stay snapped from seat tube in Index, WA, friends bought me a new bike... A 520, once I returned home contacted Trek rep and explained the failure, they sent me a 520 frame. I then modified it for 26" wheels. End tale.
