Ask Eric; I think you could convert with the cyclone, but the 8 Fun will be easier. IMO heavy hubs are not very well suited for off road (unless it's just a dirt road) since their weight is a detriment. They feel fine on the street though and don't influence handling as much as might be anticipated. Tire choice was a consideration FOR ME since I don't want a flat on the motorized wheel so use Schalbe Marathon tires. For the mid drive you'll need tools to remove the bottom bracket which is probably a sealed unit. Look at the endless sphere site and read some reviews of various propulsion systems. Electric fat bike has information, maybe not exactly applicable, on the 1000w 8 Fun.
