The Sirrus, like many high performance hybrids or flat bar road bikes, is designed more for riding on the road than off. But they can take wider cyclocross style tires, giving them good off road ability. So while I still consider it a road bike, it's actually much more versatile than a true road bike.

Really, it's all a bunch of labels depending on who you ask. (like gravel grinder )

My flat bar Raleigh Roper came with 35 mm cyclocross tires, which I switched out to fast rolling road tires. I call it a "Cross Road" bike.
