I got this advice from a chap in Kitchener Ontario. I was looking to get to the 401 highway to Toronto and beyond. He gave me directions to the on ramp and then he said, "When you get on the 401, get in the middle lane, and drive like bloody hell".

I use the same philosophy when on a group ride. Get somewhere in the middle of the pack, and ride like bloody hell.
