Couldn't you just rig up an emergency spoke by taking a bit of strong wire/rope and twisting it (like they do for barbed wire fences) then putting the thing you used to twist it between the two adjacent spokes? Maybe secured with some tape? I think that'd work until you got home...

Attaching it to the nipple may be hard, but I'm sure things like this exist already.
