Anyway moving on ... does anyone know what other countries are doing with their public transportation systems?

We've had one from Tokyo weigh in, which was greatly appreciated. I'd like to hear more about other Asian, European systems ... and in other parts of the world too. I know that Hong Kong's public transportation system was accessed through an Octopus card back in 2012.
