Just this week I thought my spindle was bent as I had some clanking and gritty noise coming from the Bottom Bracket area. I check several things, Rear Hub, Pedals, etc. I took the chain off and spun the Crank and it looked like it was bent so today I went through it and found the far bushing was slightly loose so I cleaned and re-grease everything and it's like new. Probably not the problem, but just thought I would post anyway.
