1983 Swiss Racer Restoration

Hi,

I'm new here (and new to classic bikes as well :-)). I started restoring my Dad's racing bike. It was built from a local manufacturer, equipped with a (incomplete) Shimano 600 Arabesque set.

I bought a Shimano 600 Arabesque crank set (42/52, 170mm) and I realized only later when I received it, that it is for french threads. The bike is originally equipped with a british thread (Shimano, 1.87x24).

So, what would you advise me to do, to buy a new crank set or fitting the bike with a french thread? The shops that sell french threads that I know have them available in lenghts of 103, 107, 110, 113, 116, 118 and 120mm. Which one would I have to choose?

I'm attaching a picture with the different measures that I thought were relevant. I hope this helps.

Thanks in advance,
Sergio
