Show me the quote and the time when Eddy said it was cool. They were more utilitarian than cool back in the 60's, but about a decade and a half after better headgear came along, cycling caps became props for Boy George and George Michael.

Feel sorry for my fellow old-timers who liked wearing them, (I never did even when racing in NL, Belgium, & Germany when it was actually cold enough to warrant wearing something under one's leather hairnet), but their fashion has been commandeered by someone else (who perhaps also shave their legs.)



Between that and their cannibalization of our rainbow jersey, the culture of cycling has been very generous to gay culture.
