Many things in 70's Britain were brown. Clothes, cars & bicycles. Brown as far as they eye could see..
Many things here in California were brown also. And many more were Avocado.
I was only a kid, but I am sure that men would not have worn a scarf like that. Gold chains and leisure suits were actually worn, unfortunately.
