I would post a warning not to let this thread derail into a "cycling specific stuff is a ripoff and all my "cycling" stuff isn't really cycling stuff" pissing contest, but I know that would be pointless since the person who will post that near exact sentence won't read beyond the thread title.

But for those of you paying attention, what do you have that works really great on the bike that you found somewhere other than nashbar or your local shop?

I'm reminded of this because when it hits freezing temps in the morning, my favorite gloves are these herrignbone wool with black leather palms and 3M Thinsulate lining that I got for 20 bucks at Target. I have foolishly bought cycling specific winter gloves even after this pair, but they are the first things I pull out when it gets really cold.
