I think the OP was talking about volatile organic compounds (VOC) and how you will breath in some VOC vapors from your chain lube if you keep the bike at home. I doubt chain lubes have enough VOCs on them for that to be an issue (more so when you consider how little lube is applied) but it has probably been known to cause cancer in the state of California. If you know what I mean.
I think the obvious answer for the OP'S original question is: hemp seed oil.
