The rubber nipple shown in this picture is where the wire passed thru the frame - you can pop these out pretty easily with your fingernails to re-run a 18ga grey wire if you ever wanted to set it back opn

Man, what a bummer
for a day or so I really thought I had a vintage racing bike... At least it's a genuine! Well no big deal, as Falcon 3 says, I'll ride the wheels off it and build it my way
