Yes John, the app connected the two points and drew a line, like in the second shot. And apparently there's no direct way to edit, amend or change the ride. Which seems reasonable, but still disappointing to lose the ride.

I don't think that I stopped the app. I will definitely be more mindful next time, and less bugged about messing with it while it's recording. It stopped right where I checked it so I might have inadvertently stopped it.

There was a recent strava update that was supplied and I did download it, with no functional or cosmetic changes noted. Also, the firmware for the phone was recently updated. I think that Auto-pause did not restart. I turned it off and I think that I will manually start and stop it from here out.
