The A-bike is most definitely lighter for a production folding bike. Not a bike that I would buy but still lighter. AND smaller. And the "safest" is quite subjective. I think all that hyperbole is damaging. However, the bike itself seems very good indeed, and the designer is not from yesterday either.
Mark Sanders, inventor of the Strida and the iFold bikes, also backed. That's very serious confidence.
The smaller I can't be bothered to figure out but I'll take your word on it. Doesn't Bike Friday make a variety of lighter bikes though? There's also stuff like the A-bike, the Ultra X; both lighter than the Helix.
The bike does look quite good, I'd be curious to possibly try one, I just don't like false advertising.
