I've got PB cascadias on my winter bike and SKS lonboards on my regular commuter. the longboards are better because of the longer mudflap, but it's not a huge difference.
the cascadias on my winter bike work well enough and, like you, i'm not about to change them out while they're still in good and serviceable condition.
