It's that frame that is the main attraction. Yes, the BL's were a sight to behold, elegant in a villainous sort of way but it's the handling and ride that set it apart. You can put a 130mm race wheelset on it to really spice it up. Mine does well with Vuelta Corsa Lites, 7sp 12-28 shifted by a 600 tricolor indexed. I built it with speed in mind and it never disappoints.
Totally agree. I saw a set of Black Lightning components on eBay but I didn't bid. I wanted something a bit different. Yes, the dropouts are spaced at 128 mm and either 126 mm or 130 work fine - I've tried both. I stayed with 126 mm for now because I already had the nice wheels and DA freewheel. Lots of options though. It's been so rainy here in the east that I've only been able to ride up and down the street. I can't wait to get out for a longer ride. As it is now, the bike weighs just a smidge more than 20 lbs.
