I don't know why they say that an asymmetrical spindle is required. I've always accounted for the difference and picked a modern symmetrical BB with correct chainline and let the left side crank be spaced out a few extra mm.

The original spindle is 112mm, asymmetrical by 2mm. That translates to a 114mm BB modern symmetrical BB. The difference between the tapers changes things by -1mm so a 113mm BB should do it for a 120mm hub chainline. Adding 5mm for a 130mm cassette hub will yield a 118mm BB.
