I'm not an expert, but 6 or 7 courses doesn't sound like a lot---but I think it also depends on the number of waypoints/clickpoints in each course, and of course, how long the route is.

A couple of things I've learned using RWGPS that have helped make the TCX courses concise and work well:

--Use as few "click" points as possible (I don't know the technical term). For example, you really only need one point on each road you travel.

--Do not click in an intersection. Click before and after a turn to set up the route.

I'm using a Garmin 500 and a Basic RWGPS membership. The 500 offers me the following route screens: an electronic cue sheet display, an elevation profile, and a breadcrumb map. I get a beep and visual cue (left, straight, or right) with the road name before each turn or road name change. That all requires a TCX file. If you have a newer Garmin, you may be able to get more from the TCX or GPX output from RWGPS.
