I'd keep it cheap for a winter bike. They get beat up and the chemicals play havoc with things. All the hardware on my winter MB is corroded from chemicals. And the aluminum frame's finish gets beat up from the constant assault of grit and such. I've always heard not to let any chips in CF stay unsealed so I'd be concerned about a CF bike. My winter rides are either steel or aluminum. Just food for thought.
