Bar top Suntour shifters?

I have an old Cannondale with Suntour 7 speed downtube indexed shifting, a very early type. The indexing on this bike never worked very well, and it had a setting for friction, which is where it has been for 25+ years. This was my wife's attempt to ride with me, which never quite worked out either. Anyway, this bike had been on my trainer and left there as a semi-permanent exercise bike. About a year ago the last loop of the derailleur cable housing broke through and I took it off the trainer and started using my regular road bike on it. This is a PITA as the "training room" is on the third floor of my house and I had to carry the bike up and down the stairs all the time when it was nice enough to ride outdoors in the winter.

Anyway, what I'm looking for are bar top shift levers that will work with the Suntour indexing system. Once I had my road bike with the Chorus 10sp on the trainer I found my trainer sessions worked better, and while I want to put the C'dale back on, I know I'll miss the fingertip shifting. When The Sufferfest says 10! I want to go to 10 instantly and not have to fuss. And when it says 4, I want to be able to go to 4 to take a breather quickly. Some of these shifts are supposed to be fast paced to simulate real riding and I was always fumbling around with the shifters.

Any recommendations? Will Shimano stuff work? It is old 7 speed, which I think had old spacing, before they started getting narrow and part of a system.
