2015 Cycling Goal Met — Woo Hoo!

Dec 31 marked my second full year of being back on a bike after an absence of decades between my late 'teens and age 58.

My 2014 total was 3,130 miles (1,662 road and 1,469 stationary). My goal for 2015 was double the 2015 mileage.

2015 stats are in, with my ride yesterday bringing my total to 6,371 miles (3,787 road plus 2,584 stationary and rollers), 104% ahead of 2014!

Other cycling highlights in 2015 include my first bike overnight, first naked bike ride, second and third centuries, personal best longest day at 126.8 miles, personal best month at 729 miles and purchase of a lightly-used Cannondale CX to keep my old Giant MTB company. 2015 gradually saw me eschew motorized transportation in favour of the bike for most travel excepting road trips and heavy hauling.

I'm not planning to chase bigger miles in 2016, although that might happen regardless. Rather, I want to ride several multi-day tours, do more centuries, get more structured in my training, and climb the highest paved road in Canada (which is car-free the first half of June): Bicycling Highwood Pass
