If anything it was because my skinny tires didn't fling up much mud onto the frame, and a 5 mile stretch of pavement at the end cleaned the tires up. If you're in NC you've got ample opportunities to do something similar
There are lots of short unpaved roads but i don't know of any long ones or combinations that can be connected to make a long ride.
Do you know of any or how to find them. Most bike shops cater to roadies and "gravel grinding" insn't really a thing here yet.
