A good sprung saddle like Brooks Flyer has hard springs. So it doesn't bounce when pedalling, but when you hit a bump you didn't notice, instead of getting a bolt into your spine, the spring softens it up. Just those big hard bumps that come unnoticed.
I used it as a good addition to decently fat tyres on my relatively upright sitting city commuter.
That's right I haven't. Just a thought. Of course there is always some damping anyway, especially in your legs.
