Well, that was a fluffernutter. The lead bike missed an initial turnoff, so we were
all 2.2mi behind the mile markers. That's fine - race distances are sometimes off. I upped my pace a bit to plan to finish ~16.1 instead of 18.3. Except, oh wait, they quickly added some extra on the end. And it was too much, so it went long by almost a mile, and I fell apart as I realized that was happening. But some super-fast people finished before the extra bit was added. And some people later off the start got on the correct course. So, there are
three sets of distances out there that people did. And I hurt. A lot.
