Check out the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure in June. It was well-praised by some experienced cycle tourists I have met on Bike Forums. I may even ride it this year after reading the website, though I am a native of Ohio's archrival state (Michigan).

It's a bit leisurely for hard core cyclists, but great for families. My son's in-laws have done it several times on a pair of tandems.
