I appreciate the graphs, but if you have access to numbers that would help. I agree it matters very little, but races - esp the TT's are won by very very little. Also, the last few years UCI bikes are heavier than they were, as are the wheels. I would expect a pro riding a WW bike to get up Alpe D'Huez a wee faster than riding his team bike in a TT. The difference in a cassette weight can DQ a rider in a UCI race, so it matters to UCI at least.
these show the city-city rides, which are virtually the same each year. And if anything, the pavement has gotten much smoother on many of them. I'll see if I can find the source of the graphs.
